Honda S2000 build guide
F20C · 2.0 NA I4, 9k rpm. What the stock hardware reliably supports, where it breaks first, and the fastest safe path to more.
The Honda S2000 makes 240 hp stock at roughly 2,800 lb (11.7 lb/hp). Its stock internals are good for about 450 hp, the fuel system for around 300 hp, and its naturally aspirated setup tops out around 265 hp without forced induction. Below is the limit sheet carbuildcheck analyzes against, plus the platform's documented weak points.

03 Where it breaks first
9,000 rpm plus boost leaves zero margin — the F20C tolerates boost well but does not tolerate knock. Tune rich and conservative.
Early AP1s: confirm the valve-retainer update has been done before chasing rpm.
04 The typical path
Intake → headers → tune → cams or forced induction. NA gains are honest but small; the big unlock is boost, and boost starts at the fuel system.
